Parasite Control for Pets on the South Shore

To make sure your pet's health remains in check, you must control any parasites it could possibly have. On the South Shore, entrust your cat or dog to the experienced team at Taschereau Veterinarian Hospital in Greenfield Park. We can even advise you on how to administer effective care at home, such as giving shots and any other preventive care that might be needed.

Parasite Issues We Treat

  • Intestinal Parasites: Can contaminate children. Preventive treatment involves deworming medication.

  • Heartworms: Transmitted to dogs, but also sometimes to cats, through mosquitoes. Have your pet tested regularly.

Fleas: Can cause painful itching, allergies, and skin infections. Monthly preventive treatment is recommended in the summer and fall.

Lyme disease: Transmitted through ticks. Mainly affects dogs who frequent wooded areas or areas with tall grass. Preventive treatment is highly recommended.

Other parasites: You can trust our veterinarians to detect the presence of any other less common parasites in the context of a general exam.
