Veterinary Examination
At Hôpital vétérinaire Taschereau, we recommend that all cats and dogs come in for an annual check-up. A complete veterinary examination is the best way to ensure the overall health of your pet and prevent the onset and development of certain diseases and discomforts. Our team will be happy to see you and your pet on a yearly basis.
Of course, if there is a situation that is worrying you, such as vomiting or pain, or if you believe there is an emergency, don’t wait for your annual appointment to let us know about your concerns or questions. Contact us for a consultation right away.
What does the veterinarian do during my pet’s examination?
During a routine check-up, the veterinarian and their team will take the time to thoroughly examine your pet. This will allow them to assess the following features and act quickly in the event of anomalies:
- Weight, size and body temperature
- Eyes, ears, fur, skin
- Teeth, gums, mouth
- Bones and joints
- Palpation of the abdomen and lymph nodes
- Listening to the heart and lungs
Since your pet obviously can’t talk, the information you provide to the team about their habits or recently observed changes will be invaluable. Also, don’t forget to bring your pet’s health and vaccination record so that everything can be documented.
